TEHRAN – Iranian artist Abdorreza Rabeti’s painting depicting his personal view of the Portuguese historical site, Sagres Promontory, has been selected for an exhibition at the Fortaleza de Sagres.
Sagres Point is a windswept, shelf-like promontory located in the Algarve region in southern Portugal.
The exhibition titled “Perspective” opened on Sunday and features paintings by artists from different countries.
They have created their personal impressions of the site, which they have not visited in person. The Internet has been the sole source of information, the organizers have announced.
This is an exercise in the digitally globalized era in which various artistic perspectives on a particular place have been displayed.
The exhibition will run until September 3.
Among the participating artists are Adrian Lis from Romania, Carmen Heemels from the Netherlands, Valery Valius from Russia, Anneli Di Francis from Australia, Gabriela Pickett from Mexico, Lusine Breitscheidel from Germany, Jonathan Benitez from the Philippines, Felipe Barbosa from Brazil, Sweta Jah from India and Damien Senyuy from Cameroon.
